 Key Features

  • The iPhone 15 is set to demand a USB- C charging cable rather of the Lightning cable.
  • It's Apple's first change to the iPhone's charging port in further than 10 years.
  • The company was under pressure from the EU to change its charging port to a USB-C.

Apple's Lightning charging wire may soon come obsolete now that Apple's iPhone 15 is set to feature a USB- C charging port.

The device is anticipated to release on Sept. 12 and its new charging cord could make adopting a friend's charger a little more delicate.

The company had faced mounting pressure since 2020 from the European Union to make the change to USB- C charging ports, but it pushed back.

In 2022, the EU agreed on legislation that would demand all smartphones vended there to have universal charging ports by fall 2024. India passed a analogous accreditation in December of the same year. The countries settled on the USB- C, which Apple formerly uses to charge its rearmost Macbook and iPad models.

Now, it appears Apple is set to make the change to USB- C to its iPhone charging world wide.

The charging change also extends to the rearmost model of AirPods, according to Bloomberg. The new AirPods Pro will reportedly also feature the USB- C charging port rather of a Lightning port.

Although you will not be suitable to adopt a charger from proprietors of aged iPhones, there are numerousnon-Apple bias that also use USB- C cords for power.
